WA World Ocean Day
Here in Western Australia, we are fortunate to have nearly 13,000 kilometres of breath-taking coastline as our home. The ocean is more than just a backdrop – it’s part of our history, culture, and way of life.
But the ocean faces challenges, both locally and globally. We need to take action to ensure this incredible resource stays healthy and vibrant for generations to come.
On June 8, World Ocean Day, join The Jock Clough Marine Foundation at Gage Roads Brew Co to make a difference! Hosted at Gage Roads Fremantle, WA Ocean Day brings together expert panels and information stalls, with live music and good times, to engage locals on ocean health.
On the day, two panel discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities ahead for our oceans, featuring Rebecca Prince-Ruiz (Plastic Free July), Dr Jordan Goetze (Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions), Dr Alan Jamieson (Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Centre) and more. Following the panels, the amazing Thornbird (featuring Vikki from the Waifs) will be up on-stage serving bluesy folk rock.
Come join us at Gage Roads Freo on World Ocean Day and help us celebrate big blue!
