9. Coastal Processes

Home Projects Cockburn Sound 9. Coastal Processes

About the theme

This research integrates historical and new on-ground data, providing an insight into sediment transport and beach process in Owen Anchorage and Cockburn Sound. This data will inform the protection and maintenance of shoreline stability, coastal amenity, marine ecosystems and shipping channel stability.

The findings will also inform where dredge material may be redistributed to benefit local beaches or to support ecosystem restoration such as seagrass meadows.
